This on-line workshop will cover the basics of handbuilding with textured slabs! Participants should have some experience handling clay, and have their own tools and materials and a place to work and a device that can access Skype. Students will also need access to a printer for printing out the templates that I will send before the class. All technical issues with Skype must be worked out before hand, which can be done with a scheduled test call to me, if need be.
Handling of clay, making slabs, imprinting them
Making of and use of templates
Cutting angles for strong joins and smooth seams
Slab handles and spouts, and how to shape and attach them
